This was my first major Painter experiment. It was drawn and colored with Painter and Photoshop via Wacom tablet. Lesson learned: watch those K tones! I made the mistake of using black while blending colors which looked awesome on the screen I painted on. But when I tried to post this on my blog or print it out the whole thing turned to mud! Jpegs and printers read and amplified all those K tones which destroyed the colors and made the whole thing too dark to view. As a result, I had to tweak the black levels using Photoshop adjustments which then left the whole image looking washed out. What a disappointment! So many hours invested on this piece and they all went down the toilet. But live and learn. It was my very first piece after all. I guess something was bound to go wrong and I'm sure there are many mistakes yet to come as I continue to learn this stuff.
i really like the graphite feel that you're going for where the highlight meets the main color of an object. thats really a fun way to keep these digital drawings looking more organic! awesome shot, fun effects, sweet moon and planetoid! those weapons are on point!
Awesome pic and as you say live and learn. You certainly learned your lesson with the use of blacks and all that stuff that happened to your illo.
You did great on the tweaks afterward and let me say that from this side of the internet it looks awesome.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
